Quite an unpleasant shopping experience unfortunately.

I went in with an open mind, but also fully knowing that this store is fabrics focused. They had quite a limited supply of pens and paper (which I was looking for), which is fine, as this was my first visit and I was scoping it out.

What made for quite an unpleasant experience was two of the male shop workers having a very loud conversation with each other, across the store. Neither showed any form of customer service. They didn't greet customers, see if customers needed any help or anything to that effect. But they continued to have a very loud, quite abrasive conversation for the duration of my time in there. One of them came and stood very near to where I was looking at sketchbooks, but continued to talk to his colleague. I suspect this is perhaps what they do to check customers do not steal things, but it made me feel very uncomfortable. And again, at no point did he offer any assistance.

The whole experience was very odd. The store is very fabric/textile focused, with a very limited supply of anything else. But at least I know this now and will probably never return, more due to the service than anything else.

Rude stuff. Advised me to buy a wrong product and when I returned to the shop to solve it, they refused a refund or exchange. Luckily I didn’t use the product that would’ve made a hole in my jeans as I realised it’s not what I was looking for. If I used what the lady told me to buy I would’ve had a whole in my jeans. A gentleman lied to me he showed me products but I never dealt with him, just a lady that was there. Unprofessional.

Customer service fail 101
I’ve spent hundreds of pounds here since they opened, but I will not go back after today, totally rude staff for no reason at all. If you don’t like customers, don’t run a shop. There are plenty of other good fabric shops nearby with friendly and helpful staff, such as on Seven Sisters Rd. I am always polite, helpful and friendly so I’m not sure if their issue is misogyny, awful manners, or both, but either way, my money won’t be spent here again.

One star because I cannot give less. I have been a regular client for months and always been a good client, even putting up with the staff literally following down every isle while trying to shop, which is bad enough. Two days ago I bought an item and did not take it out of the bag until this morning when I realised that a piece is missing making it useless. Put it back in the original bag with price tag still on, the receipt in the bag and took it back to exchange it. They categorically refused saying that it's not their fault because they check the items when they put them on display so the piece was there when they sold it.
Mind the item had not been taken out of the original bag from when it left the store to when I brought it back two days afterwards.
Safe to say they won't be seeing my face or my money in there again.
Shop at your own risk and make sure items are not faulty, because they were not polite about it.

I will never return to the archway store. Three staff were watching us as if we were thieves. The man selling fabric was rude and all staff were unfriendly. I am a carer and was with a vulnerable person who became agitated and upset by the attitude of the staff.

Shocking customer service. Sadly me and my girlfriend were quite aggressively pursued around the shop whilst browsing. When I reported this to the front desk calmly, the lady half laughed it off and said the man who pursued us was doing his job. The shop was empty at the time.

Don't go unless you want to be followed around every isle you go to. I've been to this shop many many times and every single time I get followed by the male staff, it makes me so uncomfortable. It's sad because they have a good range of products.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. No one greeted when I walked in and said hello, completely ignored and I needed little clipping of fabric so I can colour match to a project and the guy say NO, NOT AT ALL! and just walked away. Never going there.
