Poor service for Garden Waste Collection. We have paid £80 per year for this service.
On Wednesday, May 01, 2024, I placed my brown bin outside my property before 6am. The bin collector arrived and moved the bin towards the main Sanderling Close. After a few minutes, the truck arrived but only collected my neighbor's bin, leaving mine behind. My bin only contained garden waste and had the payment sticker attached to it.
This bin will now remain uncollected for two weeks.

A few days after filing a complaint with the council, their truck came specifically to collect the contents of the garden bin. So, thank you Thurrock Council for addressing the complaint.

Spoke to Thurrock council today regarding a closed road and parking bays not suspended as only open to residents. Put through to wrong department but chap was helpful but could only give me an email
for the department as the departments I needed havent a telephone. So it’s an urgent matter so emailed to receive a reply it could take 10 days to be dealt with. What use is that and in what other company would use this system. There’s a reason why people like to speak to people - Thurrock Council need to change this

If I could give no stars I would, this council is a complete shambles and all they do is make the lives of local residents hell. Absolutely shocking staff on phone lines, no help and talking to you with attitude. Think it's a case of see how much we can get out of the residents in advance to try and foot their debts and bankruptcy.

Absolutely appalling pieces of work here. Was issued a parking fine in a residential area where you are required to have a permit where there are NO signs.

When trying to submit evidence online to appeal, the website wouldn’t let me attach the files even though they were under the required 10mb size. Then I tried calling them up who ignored any comments I had to say about their website being broken (probably is that way to remain corrupt, let’s be honest).

On the phone, I was told that there was a sign to represent this which I’m told was down the end of the road, turn right, across a zebra crossing, then further down that road until you get to a secret door where a little elf will ask you for the password before being slingshotted into France to find the sign underneath a wooden windmill 🙄🙄

This is pathetic. There’s clearly been a sign torn off (attached in the photo) and the council have done nothing to replace it, but are happy to take money off of people due to the councils’ laziness. I normally pay for my failings as I can see when I’m at fault, but not when it’s clearly their own lack of care.

Sent an email to appeal it further and haven’t heard anything since. “It may take up to ten days for a response” 🥴🥴 Sure, okay. Ten days to wait so that my fine becomes the full amount 🙄🙄

Get a life.

Took half hour to get through to somebody due to lack of staff. When I did get through to somebody the computer the person was using suddenly logged itself out & couldn’t log bak in for some odd reason. When I asked if there was someone else I could talk to in the office who has a computer to help with my query, the person responded no there isn’t & u will have to ring bak 2moro or email Thurrock council.
Thurrock council was once a council you could rely on.
Now because they have got themselves in serious debt the working class people of this borough end up footing the bill.
IE £80 pounds on a garden waste subscription that is £40 pounds anywhere else & another extra £8 pounds a month for a single occupancy council tax, that is now £100 quid a month, more than anywhere else outside of London.
Not to mention the lack of staff in there offices & rudeness when you finally get to speak to someone on the phone.
I can now see an increase in flytipping due to bins being emptied every 2 weeks instead of every week like it used to be.
I now cannot blame peeps who will flytip due to the extra payments.
Well done 👏 Thurrock council on being an absolute disgrace

Shame on you, Grays Council! We live 0.2 miles from Belmont Academy Primary School but have been waiting for a place at this school for 2 years. In the meantime we go to a school that is much further away and there are days when we can't get there by bus or car because of the traffic. This morning traffic was at a standstill and we had to walk over 3 miles in the rain to get to school. You should arrange for the children to get a place at the nearest school. And it is not the only reason for dissatisfaction. Because you raised the taxes, the garbage should be collected weekly not every 2 weeks because the weather is getting hot and you will have a bad smell in the street and the rats will invade us.
