We visited today and booked on the Garden tour for 11:30. This was led by David the head gardener. He was absolutely brilliant. We had a wonderful time and come away feeling very inspired. This was down to his excellent knowledge and passion for gardening. A true asset and credit to the Red House. Please pass on our thanks to him.
P.S Good luck with your Bamboo.

Absolutely great little museum with a fantastic collection of artworks hanging in the house, as well as a really interesting exhibit on Britten and Pears, plus access to the gardens and his composing studio. The museum staff were incredibly friendly and happy to have us and we even managed to get a tour of the upstairs bedrooms from a lovely guide who showed us all the amazing artworks and gave some background about the house. For me, the highlight of this place was definitely the paintings - so many great 20th century pieces collected by Britten and Pears. Well worth a visit.

Whilst on holiday, went to Aldeburgh to see were Benjamin Britten lived.
"The Red House", Unfortunately we arrived 15 minutes before closing time. It looks a most interesting place to visit and as we have booked Suffolk for 2024 it's on our to do list...

The visit was well beyond my expectations. Allow yourself plenty of time as there is so much to see and we were very impressed with the short talks from the archivist and volunteers.

Wonderful. The volunteers are well informed and friendly. The house itself is not over restored and feels very much like it's been left when they died. The pictures are an amazing collection. You must do the bedroom tour if possible. Everything here is looked after perfectly.
