Would be 5 stars only for that I'm big on cash is king and it's card only.
But the staff are lovely, helpful and approachable. I found what I was looking for and had help to decide on the amount of fabric I needed. When I got home to start my project it was the perfect amount of fabric and great on price. Very happy! The camera doesn't do the fabric justice, it's very rich and gorgeous!

Good selection of fabrics at sensible prices, keep in mind that the fabrics on sale here are seconds. They also sell sundries such as thread, and a lot of that is cheaper than elsewhere. Staff generally helpful. The BIG problem is that the parking is on the other side of the A6 and it is extremely difficult to cross.

Every school holidays and often several times over the summer, my wife will plan a family trip to Lancaster. The "butterfly house" and "the antiques place" are often touted as focal points for these trips, but the whole family are wise to the grim reality of living with a person with a chronic fabric shop addiction. Make no mistake, Standfasts is the real reason for the trip, the butterflies are merely for decoration and misdirection 😉

Even my son, this time round, asked innocently "Will we be popping in to the fabric factory on the way in?". She looked sheepishly away and said "we might be..."

Seriously the government should demand some sort of warning to be put on these places. "Please shop for fabric responsibly. Be fabric aware." And spare a thought for their loved ones, left sitting in the car for hours with nothing but Google saying "Standfast and Barracks... know this place?"

Anyway, on to the review. She just got back in to the car and exclaimed "Yes, Yes... YES!!!"

Some beautiful fabrics from well known designers and at good prices. Mostly upholstery and curtain fabric but done cotton lawn too. They also have a limited selection of wallpaper and paint. The shop sells some haberdashery and embellishments as well. Definitely worth a visit!

Exceptional! Spoke to a lovely lady last week who was very helpful. Have been hunting down some Clarke and Clarke fabric for ages, found some with the factory shop for €8/m was priced €90/m in Ireland! Yes €90!!! Fabric is stunning and in perfect condition. Ordered in Uk on Friday evening was delivered to me in Ireland on Wednesday! Only €11 customs charge. Chuffed!
