A lady, I assume the owner, was helpful, or at least tried to help me.

Did I know what I was looking for, er no, I’m looking on behalf of a friend.

Now I know the shop exists, I will return with my friend another day.

Shops like The Fabric Quarter used to be commonplace. As far as I am aware, the only fabric shop in Lincoln.

My experience comes from a once a year haberdashery emergency, during a city wide costume event, for which they are perfectly situated and prepared for. They now recognize me famously or infamously. Staff offer personal advice and supplies to fix anything from a lost button, a serious wardrobe malfunction, to a whole new project. The whole team has always given me really good advice, as someone who grasps the concept of sewing, but lacks practice.

On one of the streets near the cathedral, this shop is a gem. Filled with lovely fabric (quilting, garment, and home dec) with friendly and helpful staff. Great shop to visit!

Lovely shop with a wide variety of fabrics. Not a very big shop, with the covid 19 guidelines are in place. So you may have to queue at the door and juggle your place once you enter. When you are greeted and acknowledged by the friendly staff you don't mind. I bought quite a few different variety of fabrics today and will definitely be returning in the near future either online or in the shop.

Have just received material from The Fabric Quarter which I am thrilled with. Have had endless conversations with Annette and Amy regarding suitable material as I was finding it difficult getting the right weight for dress material online.
