A querky place for a coffee shop and nice for a visit. It's possible to do a bit of shopping at the same time.

Located on the corner of the street. It nice to sit and watch the passers-by.

Reasonably pricing and ok food. My Homity pie and my wife's toasted sandwich were OK. Both were warm enough, just, but could have been hotter.

Decafe tea was nice touch in the T pots.

The toilet facilities are in the shop, tucked away in the corner. Short visits recommend this time of year as it is quite cold in there. 😬

Staff were lovely, but prior to my decision were unable to give me any feedback on the Homity pie as they had never tried one!

Park in the towns carpark and this is just a short walk.

It’s a shame that this shop is only getting 2 stars from me because I can see so much potential! The location alone makes it easily accessible to the general public and makes for a great afternoon tea location after walking around bakewell. Only one other customer inside store when I walked in. Unfortunately the staff was not entirely friendly. I was just stared at and not greeted at all. It was mainly me doing the greetings and smiling at Staff and trying to cheer them up when it should clearly be the other way around. It’s a cute little book shop with a coffee/tea shop on the other side which is convenient but what really put me off was just the overall attitude from staff members. They didn’t seem to want to be there and were not bothered by anyone coming in. A bit cluttered on the tea shop side-they could do with scaling down on the trinkets. Ordered a quick meal (sausage roll) and a brownie on the side. Sausage roll dish was decent for the price but the brownie was dry and tasteless. Hope this place makes some improvements in the near future.

Lovely little shop and cafe. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Our dog was very well looked after by the staff with water, biscuits and some sausages. Reasonable prices for their coffee and cake. The Bakewell slice is lovely! Highly recommend this cafe.

Very good hot chocolate and a bakewell tart. Dog friendly. Waitress gave our dog a sausage which she enjoyed very much. Infact it was Poppy that insisted I reviewed this cafe. Shame it's not licensed as I wouldn't mind tasting the Shining Cliff Gin they have in the gift shop!

I was in the gift shop last Thursday June 6, 2024 and purchased a set of these coasters. I have already returned home in U.S.A. only to find out that all 4 coasters have the same saying. In the store there was 4 different sayings and I thought that was what I purchased. The gift shop was lovely and I wished I had more time to spend there but had 2 small children with us so cut it short. I was wondering if there is any way I could purchase the other sayings of the tea coasters so I could have all 4 sayings? I am willing to buy the other 3 sayings and would love to pay for that and shipping if you would be so kind to reach out to me!

I really don't understand all the low star reviews. The cafe was super busy and the coffee machine was broken but the staff were still very lovely and apologetic. The food was delicious, and the cafe was warm, comfortable, and clean. Dogs welcome as well. I think the 1 stars are just from grumpy and entitled people 😅 if you have an ounce of understanding, this cafe is great.
