My all time favourite shop for anything art and crafts related. Have been coming to Tapleys since I was a student at Wellington in the early 90s. Irene, the owner is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable too. Will be back for more mount board soon.

I have been using the services of this charming shop for some years now. Apart from the extensive range of art supplies and plethora of decorative items for sale this shop has an excellent framing service. I have had several pictures framed at this shop and have always been both happy with the framed picture but also with the quantity of the service that I got to get the work done. I have taken the pictures in and with the lady that runs the shop, worked out the best frame and when needed mounts to use. Being partially colour blind this has been really helpful. Every visit always includes a welcome and pleasant chat and the warm feeling of a truly great customer experience. I know that this shop would have suffered during lockdown but when it reopens I will definitely have more pictures to frame. If only all shops gave this experience,

I have been a customer at this shop for a few years now. I used to go with my wife and since her death I have used it several times since. Most of my custom has been having pictures framed and actually I have had quite a few pictures framed. It’s a good experience to go in, a friendly chat with the owner or sales staff not just about the picture to be framed. With the pictures I generally have an idea of what I want but sometimes it little advice is given and appreciated. The work is always carried out to the best of standards and pricing is fair. Of course the shop is a lovely art shop too and is full of nik naks that just might fill a gap in your home. Overall this is about as good a retail experience as you can have. I really hope that this business survives and flourishes for years to come

An aladin's cave, full of art supplies, greeting cards, and lovely stationery. It is a long established independent art and gift shop, well worth a visit.
