Mandy was recommended to me by a friend when she heard i was looking to take up sewing lessons. Mandy is an excellent sewing teacher. I made a cushion cover, top and dress out of different fabric and using different techniques.

Mandy is very kind, friendly, patient and extremely knowledgeable. She is very talented at working with patterns, fabrics and using the sewing machine / stitching by hand.

I’ve really enjoyed the lessons I’ve been to so far and highly recommended her for people wanting to learn to see or enhance their skills.

As well as lessons, Mandy is also an expert at making curtains and we commissioned some bespoke curtains for one of our bedrooms with very large windows - which also look fantastic!

I hadn’t sewn since school (& not very well!), but about 6 years ago, I decided I wanted to make affordable “designer” clothes which did not look homemade! I couldn’t have chosen better – after
an initial lesson or two, familiarising myself with a modern sewing machine and stitches/techniques etc. we got straight in. Mandy is very personable and well-experienced in all aspects of sewing and
pattern making, both modern and traditional, and is a first class teacher. I chose designs from various sources and we either adapted existing patterns or Mandy created them from scratch. Over the years, I’ve made several tops, dresses, a jumpsuit and even an evening bag and very much enjoy wearing the outfits I made. I miss our lessons (I’ve moved out of the area) but remain in touch.

In addition, Mandy has an interior soft furnishing business (Kings Curtains) and we have purchased some very well-made bespoke curtains and blinds in quality fabrics.

Mandy is such an excellent teacher and so friendly and patient. I would recommend to anyone wanting to learn how to use the sewing machine properly. In just two - one to one sessions Mandy taught me how to put in button holes, zips and make a cushion to a good standard.
