I thought I would support local business and paid double on some embroidery threads than on line prices. I miscalculated and thought I would return them and offset the cost against some wool for a jumper project. As I started to explain myself the extremely rude shop assistant said company policy no refunds or exchanges, and pointed to a non existent sign. Lessons learnt stick to on line, cheaper, do exchanges refunds and far more polite and you don't have to pay for parking. Sevenoaks Haberdashery does not deserve your business they are money grabbers who don't give a fig about customer satisfaction.

Went in for wool and foŕ easter ribbon,, ,i make toys for charity so only wanted there cheapest wool the blond lady was so helpfull i manged to get some of the wool i wanted but one was out of stock,but she looked up to see when it would be in ,which was fine .and when it came to the ribbon there was nothing on the shelves suitable so she went down to the stockroom for me .The assistant couldent of been more helpfull . I am a true novice at knitting, sewing etc and the ladies here have been really helpful in assisting and giving me confidence in a knitting project and creating a template so I can craft a special ‘Christmas Stocking’ project. Liz has given me an excellent service. Nothing has been too much trouble for her. I recommend this business and their stocks are full of hidden treasures ! Julie x

Sadly I won’t be visiting this shop again. I went to the haberdashery a few months ago and had a bad experience. I asked for some pink bobble trim for a cushion project and was told that they didn’t have any pink bobble trim in the colour I was enquiring about. The reply was short and so I asked if the lady knew of anywhere else I would be able to buy some pink bobble trim instead. I was then told in a very rude tone that did I know how insulting it was to ask a business owner where else i could buy the items she stocked. I was quite taken aback and said if she stocked it I would be happy to buy it. I was then told that of course she could restock it and shown a colour booklet. I didn’t buy any pompom trim that day. I have been back this week and been surprised by the lack of customer service again and will no longer be returning. I love supporting small businesses but I feel that when you are making a special trip to town and paying for parking in order to support a small business, the service you receive should be good as it has cost you time and money to give your support.

The ladies in the shop are amazing below my auntie made the big girls dresses and the blue capes for our mayqueen and the girls looked wonderful on there day thankyou to everyone in the shop and now my eldest is wanting some lessons in the shop and is looking forward to getting bits in the half term it’s a one stop shop for all your needs and nothing is no bother somewhere we go to for everything now

I visited Sevenoaks Haberdashery, yesterday, to find a knitting item for my mother. I wasn't sure if I had the correct item so I asked for help from a lovely lady who appeared to be the shop assistant. She was very helpful and we found a close match to the item I needed.

I then asked another lady, who seemed more senior (maybe management) if I could have a receipt in case the item was not correct.

To my horror, her reply was that I could return the item in a reasonable time to be sure that my mother hadn't used the knitting needles to complete her project and then return them.

It left a bad taste in my mouth and if I hadn't made a promise to find the needles that same day, I would never have bought them.

I certainly won't be returning.

I visited Sevenoaks Haberdashery a few days before Christmas, and was delighted by the friendly staff and great selection in the shop. Elizabeth took her time to explain the correct yarn for each knitting pattern, and helped me choose what I needed. Thanks for all your help- I will be back!

Excellent little shop. Apart from the vast array of goods they also offer sewing machine repairs, a studio above for bespoke items to be made, needlecraft courses for local people and support TWAM.

You would be hard pushed not find what you wanted in this little cave of wonders. I suppose if I wanted to criticise anything- you would not get a wheelchair inside but the staff are so lovely, I am sure they would get things for you.

I just wish they were closer to where I live!!
