i came here to buy materials for sewing my prom dress and it added up to just £25, including about 6 metres of fake silk and lining, bias binding, ribbon, and thread! such a great store with kind staff and a vast selection.

I went in to get material for a dress to attend a wedding. It was obvious I needed some help. One of the ladies came over, helped me look for a pattern, advised on material widths and types. I left with some really lovely material and a great, but simple pattern. I couldn't be happier.

Make sure you go to the right shop! They have three different stores in Abingdon at two different locations and they all sell very different things.

Love the selection of fabrics and the prices are appropriate! Totally worth the bus journey from Oxford.

I have been a regular customer at masons fabric and the craft shop. Unfortunately my experience with the craft shop lady today has been a very unpleasant one and am a bit shocked at her rude outburst. Although I had noticed that this lady never smiled or even come across as welcoming. She completely ignored my hello on my previous visit. I thought she was not in a mood and went ahead with buying few things. Today, she reprimanded me for bringing down a fabric bolt end ( less than 2 meters) . I wished to purchase the whole lot ,so decided to take it down to the counter. I said, sorry I did not know and had not seen the notice. She firmly retaliated by saying that she had put the notice herself today .I was taken aback and asked her to sum up my other purchases.
She asked me to wait as she was doing something else. I have never ever seen a customer service so strange!!! I hate to write any negative comment ,especially for shops that store fabrics and craft items. I am so angry with myself for going ahead with the purchase despite that lady's attitude.
1 star for the customer service at the craft shop.

This is one of my favourite shops in the whole of the UK. They are pretty traditional and give EXCELLENT customer service. The range of fabrics and cotton prints can be overwhelming almost at times, and I never fail to be inspired when I go there. They also have 2 other amazing shops in the town, a haberdashery and art supplies shop next door, and a wool/yarn shop nearby.

Brilliant fabric shop with amazing staff; was stood paralysed by the choice of buttons when a lovely lady came to my rescue and even 'talked' me out of buying too much fabric for what I was making.
It's about 90 minutes away from where I live but fully thinking it's worth the journey (aided by the fact Abingdon is very nice too)
