I've got the most terrible after shopping experience.
Last week I bought 2 coats and a set of pyjama and spent almost 250 pounds and just yesterday I had the chance to wear one of the coat to a social gathering. A friend of mine warned me that I'm carrying the alarm tag on my coat!!! Imagine how embarrassing is it..
Today I changed all my plans and returned to the shop which is quite far to me with the idea to make it as quick as possible. But when I reach there the staff on the cashier were extremely rude!!
THEY WERE THE ONE WHO DIDN'T DO A GOOD JOB AND LEFT THE ALARM TAG ON THE COAT, I WAS THE ONE WHO HAD TO MAKE ALL THAT ROAD AGAIN BECAUSE OF THEIR MISTAKE, PLUS I WAS THE ONE WHO HAD TO DEAL WITH SUCH EMBARRASSMENT AND ADDITIONAL I WAS THE ONE WHO HAD TO FACE THEIR RUDENESS.
Because I didn't keep the receipt (naturally because I quite like them, didn't think to change or something, I didn't keep the receipt. Would you think the coat has the alarm tag on it which didn't work when I leave the shop!!), they felt they can treat me how ever they like!!
Until the manager came, they were extremely rude. Instead of apologising they had the courage to behave how they like.
It's obviously the staff don't get some training. They could handle it in much different and professional way but they didn't.
Also, although I told the manager they were rude, she didn't seem to care about it and obviously the manager didn't talk or warn them.
Although we were very good customers of John Lewis, not only clothes but also furniture, I don't think I can forget this treatment and returned to there..
Reply to Gina; thank you Gina for your prompt reply. But instead of writing me an automatic message I would more appreciate that you will take a quick action to inform the shop manager about what happened and make sure those staff are getting a proper speech and warning. Whatever is their excuse, to make it clear that nothing can justify such a treatment to a customer and it's not professional at all.
If you are professional!!!
Thank you,

They have a great selection of clothes, goods and gifts here. Something for everyone. It's always nice to have a browse around here, and the staff are very helpful too.

Absolutely shocking.
My parents placed an order for a washing machine at John Lewis at Brent Cross. At the time of placing the order my mother asked if we needed to move any furniture as they are both over 80 years of age. Not only are they elderly but disabled.
When the machine arrived yesterday... 2 delivery men.... refused to move the machine and my 81 year old disabled father had to move it alone as no other family member was at home as we were informed that they 'would do everything'. WARNING they don't. They wouldn't help him.... absolutely disgusting and disgraceful.
It was not only a late delivery they couldn't get out of the house fast enough.
John Lewis used to be so good with great customer service, but more recently I have found them to be unhelpful and I'm not entirely sure I'll be ordering from them again. My friends did warn me that I should go to AO or a local company and I suggest that customers do that. I am so angry that they could see that my parents are disabled, stressed and anxious.
Please do better for your future customers and give them proper Instructions, what to expect and that the entire kitchen area needs to be cleared.

The place to eat used to be great. Went on a Saturday. Not massively busy, easy to get a table.

So first issue - they had 1 person clearing tables at lunch, and it was taking them 20 mins a table to clear.

Went to coffee and patisserie bar - 4 people in the queue, 2 people behind the counter. Should be a few minutes I thought. 25 minutes later I got served. The young lady behind the counter smiled a lot but seemed to do nothing whenever she did something. The young man was also lovely but again despite doing stuff just didn’t seem to be able to get stuff done.

Honestly it’s a great a space. Our cheese and fruit scone were lovely when we got them, but the staffing and mgt seem to have gone to pot - avoid

This shop has gone seriously downhill. Very few staff on the shop floor with banks of shut tills meaning long queues with disgruntled customers at the ones that are actually open. A few good staff dotted around and most are well meaning, even if not particularly efficient, but its hard to make a purchase if you can't be served. One queueing man asked incredulously if they even want our money. Get your act together JL and invest in more staff!

I had a brilliant experience browsing mattresses today. I spent a few hours chatting to a staff member - sorry I didn't catch the name. The sheer wealth of knowledge that he possessed was incredible. Thank you so much for your assistance.
