This is a fantastic shop for quilting, sewing, and embroidery. The range of fabrics is really good with some lovely autumn-toned Japanese-style fabrics.
There are a range of Sashiko templates and kits, along with a good range of sewing accessories.
The owners were very helpful in answering my questions, and I could have spent a lot longer in there than I did!
I'm definitely going to go back there as there are a few things I have my eye on (I shall restrain myself - complete a project before buying more materials) and I'm so glad that it's not too far to get to.
It is just around the corner from the Co-op, and parking can be tricky as there are marked bays that fill up quickly.

Quite expensive. At my local craft shop I can get 3 colours of embroidery cottons for less than this shop charges for one. Massive range of poly cottons but that was not what I needed. Very limited on choice of different fabrics. Too many busy busy patterns. But the female shop assistant was very helpfu I have to say.

This shop location is incorrect, it is now located next to UK Tyres Direct. It's about 100 yards further towards Bakewell and on the opposite side of the road.

So...I did rock up without an appointment not realizing but they were absolutely lovely. They asked me to wait outside and they would get me in as soon as they could. I was absolutely blown away with the choices and the prices once inside. Definitely making an appointment and making a return journey very soon.

Never felt more unwelcome in a shop . The man and wife team very ignorant and treated us like we were coming to rob the place. Great selection of fabrics etc but would never return here. Surprised they are still in business.

Armed with requirements for 4 knitting and 2 sewing projects (sufficient to last through the winter) I parked at Heirs and Grace's. I ask politely at the door "may I come in ?". The man inside rudely snapped "you haven't got an appointment "......the shop was clearly empty. I didnt know appointment was needed ....thank you ...I walked away . The man shouting "well you can come in its empty". I fully understand and comply with all Covid regulations but this is no way to speak to a customer. I've now ordered £176 of goods online . I want to support local businesses to survive but this establishment doesn't help.

I wished it had stayed the same. I have been visiting Heirs &Grace's for quite a number of years now .When I first visited it was absolutely amazing, the old church was dedicated to selling everything patchwork it was fantastic. Now they've incorporated the second shop everything knitting and some how doesn't have the same feeling

Whilst on a Christmas break in the area I went into this shop twice. I got exactly what I wanted, such friendly, helpful people. I thought I was in heaven. We had a chat about a Tilda doll I was making. It is now complete, I would like to post a photo of it as promised.
