Visited Saturday 8th Feb for first time as have ordered online since my move to Newbury. I've been to Kingston in the past. Today's experience at Southampton was very positive. All the members of staff proved really helpful and knowledgeable about the fabrics and notions I needed. I was so pleased to find them friendly and genuinely seemed to enjoy what they do. The store is roomy, and has a great selection of fabrics at favourable prices. Long may it last as not enough of these stores around now but must needed. .

Unfortunately, I have to use this shop for my hobby, but I consistently find that the staff is unpleasant, unhappy, and careless. I don't understand why they act this way. If they are not happy in their jobs, they should consider finding another one. However, they should keep in mind that "the grass isn't always greener on the other side."

I went into the shop today to pick up some dress patterns and asked the woman behind the till for advice on fabrics to buy as I’m very new to this. The woman was incredibly helpful and showed me through how to read the dress instructions, which fabrics would be best, which zips etc. would work. She was amazing despite the shop being very busy. Thanks so much, I’ll definitely be back

Rude person serving who told my nearly 2 year old grandson off for grabbing fabric roll after she served us . I was gonna buy more fabric but quickly changed my mind . But now reading recent reviews I can see she just wasn’t having a bad day . Very bad customer service not helpful it’s a shame because I have always used fabric land . Great fabrics but customer service needs working on I will be going to Hobbycraft next time

It's a lovely shop that got everything. My wife is looking for her sewing passion. The #staff is quite rude and unhelpful. My wife feels so uncomfortable when we go there. Maybe it's just the way we look to make them behave like that. I have witnessed them serving other customers with nice tone and great service. My wife didn't want to go there anymore. It was a very bad service.
