One of its kind store in Basingstoke. It use to be place where you get clothes in rolls and everything required for sartorial needs from threads, bobbins, needles, embroidery essentials.

The ladies are helpful and experienced in their field. Help you to find options and alternatives. But now it's going to be a thing of past as they are going to close. They are out of business due to high wages, rents and lazy PeopleπŸ˜† depending more on online shopping. Now they will be online 247365!

Sorry to see Fabric Land go from Basingstoke.

Nice bright, well lit shop. Not as big as some other stores (e.g. Southampton) but still has a good selection.
The staff weren't particularly friendly. Seemed quite happy and were having a good chat and joke amongst themselves, but as soon as I approached I was met with a sour face and an off attitude. Big shame, good customer service goes a very long way and with the decline of high street shops, perhaps it's something to consider improving on? It's certainly put me off returning :/

Lovely small shop, a bit cramped in peak times but that's hardly an issue. Staff have always been lovely and courteous to me. I haven't asked them any significant questions so can't comment on helpfulness. I though the fabric prices to be reasonable. Can't disagree more with th other reviews!

Decent stock but unfriendly staff. They literally made no effort to help and even when I asked for help it was grudgingly given at a minimal level. The lady who measured out my lengths of fabric actually looked at me like she hated me. It was extremely odd to be honest. I won't be going back to that branch for sure. The two stars are purely for the stock, the staff are the minus three.

Been with and without my wife many times and always had great service. Staff are very helpful and provide advice where needed. There are many different fabrics to choose from to suit all budgets and never been dissatisfied with the products.

I regularly visit the Basingstoke branch and consistently have found the staff to be friendly and helpful. They offer me advice on the fabrics I'm selecting - and sometimes even my hot mess of a private life! I like the ladies in the shop - they're always happy to have a joke with me but remain professional at all times. They know their stock well and are open to specific requests. The new manager is particularly gifted with fabrics and will always give me advice on fabric choices, sewing techniques and pattern selection. Plus - I love looking at the buttons. Seriously impressed with how the store changed in the past few months because of the new manager - great things are on the way for Fabric Land I feel. One thing I would change if I could - that creepy manikin in the window!

Cheap prices and some nice fabric but the staff are not very friendly and there's a lot of just polycotton. But worth a look every time you're in town and really good to get the essentials that you need. Small range as the shop itself is small.

My dressmaking has been revived watching Great British Sewing Bee so went to buy pattern paper for making patterns, shop assistant was very brusque said "we don't have any and don't know when we're getting it in" not in a very pleasant way, no smiles or welcome greeting. So decided to go to C & H Fabrics in Winchester and got the full treatment with advice for my shape, polite friendly service and came out having purchased a Simplicity Amazing Fit pattern, thread, zip and 3 metres of lovely fabric which was in their sale, plus they give loyalty cards. So guess where I'll be going in future even tho' I live in Basingstoke.
