I attended the table loom workshop. My first experience of weaving with a table loom. Rachel was great, so helpful and the course is packed information and a lot of fun. Time flew! Fantastic to be able to produce something to take home. Definitely recommend.

I recently started trying different crafts and weaving caught my eye. Knowing almost nothing about it, I thought a longer course that would teach me how to set up a loom as well as how to weave would be the best introduction. I felt it would give me time to assimilate what I was being taught and not have to take it all in in one big chunk. So I signed up for the Dobby & Rose 8 week course. Rebecca is a wonderful teacher who obviously loves weaving as well as teaching. She patiently took me step by step through the whole process, from choosing colours and design, to setting up the floor loom and then actually weaving a wrap. I was very fortunate that Rebecca had the space so she generously allowed me extra time so I was able to weave to my heart’s content. I was so inspired by the course that I immediately signed up for the 2 day table loom workshop and am now the proud owner of my own table loom. Thank you so much to Rebecca, and to her 2 lovely work experience students, Rose and Honey, for giving me such a great experience and teaching me so much.

I really enjoyed my beginners table loom workshop and I’m so pleased with what I made! Rebecca’s explanation on how the weaving process works was very interesting (and useful before we started!) and the actual weaving and experimenting with different patterns and colour was immensely satisfying. We were shown the ropes by Rebecca who is an exceptionally good and patient teacher. Thank you for a super afternoon!

Such a lovely experience. Rebecca was so kind and patient. The workshop was great and I learnt a lot. Rebecca has started using English wools for classes which is brilliant. I spoke over email a few times with Rebecca and each time she responded quickly and couldn’t have been more helpful. If you are thinking about a crafting experience then this is such a perfect way to learn something new. .

I had such a wonderful time on Rebecca’s two day workshop. Beautiful setting and surroundings and Rebecca was so helpful and patient in teaching me how to set up the loom, teaching different techniques for weaving patterns and just explaining everything in a way that made sense to me. It’s a lot to take in but Rebecca makes it so easy and such a fun experience - will absolutely be doing more weaving in the future. Highly recommend if this is a craft you’ve always wanted to learn, you’re in the best hands.

Three of us went to the half day Table Loom Workshop and what a wonderful experience it was. A warm welcome awaited us in the garden workshop full of heritage looms and cones of yarn in all colours. After a short and very informative introduction we started weaving, and the more we did, the more engrossed we became. Rebecca was a joy, her knowledge and enthusiasm are infectious, and we left wanting to come back for more. Thank you so much.

I thoroughly enjoyed attending the weaving workshop at Dobby & Rose. Rebecca was absolutely charming and knowledgeable and so well prepared! Everything was ready for us. We learned a lot about the process of weaving, setting up and getting everything ready and then we got stuck in to the fun bit of weaving and creating a piece of cloth which we took away with us.
