Got the exact fabric I had in mind for an outfit, also got the matching threads. The remnant bin is brilliant as you can find lovely pieces of fabric cheaply. The staff are always cheery and helpful. Prepare to be in here for a while as the fabric is amazing..BUT luckily they have free parking outside the store. 😃

Fabric arrived in good time. However, the thread , which came with it was Gutermann 110yards and cost £2.15. Considering that Moon thread ( 1000 metres) can be purchased for under £2 in local haberdashery shops, I'll be getting my thread from there from now on.

Barry's is a real gem for fashion fabrics of all kinds, with the bonus of free parking.
Yes, you need to have a good look around for what you want but I've always found the staff friendly and helpful if I need anything. I've been in with my children before and never felt like we were being hovered over as with some places.
There's always a good selection of clearance fabrics too.

Interestingly, we'd selected a Gütermann thread and the sales assistant kindly pointed out that the Moon thread (Coats) was much cheaper, and was a close-enough match. I notice another review discussed this, and my experience was different.

Always very well stocked and plenty of staff to help with what you need.

Went here because I couldn’t find what I was looking for in other shops in Birmingham, and I found everything I wanted here! The selection of fabrics is just immense. Dropped a star because the staff aren’t the friendliest here compared to elsewhere
