Tudor Rose runs the most amazing courses and workshops. I've just attended an excellent course with Gail Lawthers. It was a really fun day and Gail is a great teacher with loads of experience and so helpful.
I also attend Janet Goddards regular patchwork class on a Saturday. Janet is another fantastic teacher with endless patience with a beginner quilter.

It's really handy to have the shop for when you need extra fabric or you've left something at home.
Even better is to have lunch brought to the workshop plus cake in the afternoon.

I visited here today with the intention of buying a computerised sewing machine. My Partner took me and was happy to sit in the cafe with coffee and cake while I did my shopping. All the ladies were very knowledgeable and welcoming. Sandra demonstrated the machine for me, I felt comfortable with her and able to ask questions. Because of the cist of the machine and my own cheekiness, Sandra also gave me a generous bundle. I'm looking forward to visiting again and joining a class

A good size shop, a nice variety of fabrics and various craft pieces and a decent cafe (despite large amounts of it being microwaved aside from the cakes). Expensive but a nice selection. Most staff are lovely and helpful aside from one senior member who was incredibly rude throughout my visit to both me and her staff 🙁

UPDATE: Returned today and am disgusted at the conduct of the member of staff I have identified as a miss Sandra.

During my visit she was INCREDIBLY rude and malicious to her staff, and it was NOT professional nor justified to act in that matter. It was vile to watch and if this happens again whilst I am present I will not hesitate to let her (and the appropriate regulations) know. She was rude to her customers including myself, making rude comments and rolling her eyes as I went to speak to her. Disgusted.

I always get outstanding service from this shop. The food is really good and cafe area is very clean. The shop is well stocked and has a big variety of goods. Sewing patterns are orderable and arrive promptly. My experience of the well run courses is that they are excellent. Staff are knowledgeable, polite, and always willing to help and offer great advice. I highly recommend Tudor Rose.

Very nice little shop, horrible staff.
Went to buy half a metre of ribbon, and was basically forced into getting double than what I needed because the "bank would earn more money than the shop". Also, when counting my money wrong both members of staff rolled their eyes. Overall the two staff members were extremely rude, and treated me feel like a nuisance rather than a customer. Would definitely recommend going somewhere else.

On two occasions the owner Sandra, has been astonishingly rude to both me and my mother, and without justification. Neither myself, family or friends will be returning to this store. Yes, a little gem in respect to their stock, but seriously I will find somewhere else to spend my money. I love supporting small businesses but this one needs to ensure it values it's customers. My advice, AVOID

Always enjoy taking my wife for her purchases and sewing sessions as the coffee shop very welcoming, comfortable and excellent food and drink. I have spent a few full days rather than driving 4 x home and back! Tucked away in a corner and well looked after by the very friendly staff. Highly recommended!!!
